Chili Fish

It is one of the most delicious dishes of Vetki fish. It is very simple and easy to cook. It can be served with hot steamed rice or fried rice in lunch or dinner.

Time required- 30 mins

Vetki fish in small piece- 250gm (boneless)
Black pepper powder – 1tsp
Corn flour – 2tbsp
White vinegar – 1tbsp
Capcicum – 1 piece
Onion – 1 medium size
Garlic – 3 piece
Tomato sauce, soya sauce and chili sauce.
Vegetable oil – 1 ½ tbsp.
Green chilies – 4 pieces
Baking  powder – pinch
Salt –  as per taste


  • Wash the fish thoroughly. Marinate the fish with vinegar, black pepper powder, salt and keep it for 10 mins.
  • Cut the capsicum and onion in dice, slit chilies in length wise and finely chopped the garlic.
  • On the marinated fish, add 1 ½ tbsp. of corn flour and pinch of baking powder and mix them well.
  • Turn on the flame and fry the marinated fish in a kadai and set them aside.
  • On the same kadai, add garlic, capsicum, onion and chilies.  Fry them till they tender.
  • Mix soya, tomato and chili sauce in a bowl and put the mixture on the fried vegetables.
  • Add some water and let it boil for 7-8mins until the vegies become soft.
  • In another bowl, mix ½ tbsp. of corn flour in normal water and pour it in the kadai and stir properly.
  • Now add the fried fish in the kadai ad let it cook for 1min.
  • Put off the flame. Your “Chili Fish” is ready to serve.
